Each year Walton Plantation makes strides towards its goal of a healthy, balanced biodiverse forest. The annual strides are measured by the American Tree Farm System - ATFS. The ATFS and the Florida Forestry Association provide guidelines for forest management and production. The ATFS certification of a group tree farm is the highest starndard of monitoring and management. Walton Plantation recieved this certification in 2007.

Walton Plantation is a founding member of an alliance of North Florida landowners seeking to develop harvest methods and markets for logging waste, stumps and other green waste.
